Start of the influenza season in UK: H1N1(2009) cases
英国では、特に、この 3週間の全国での influenza H1N1 (2009) [ A型インフルエンザ H1N1 2009]ウイルス重症感染者数増加 (英国 Health Protection Agency 健康保護局 HPA 発表)。
Notably, there has been no change in the antigenic character of the virus implying that the currently available vaccine should continue to provide protection.

第49週(2010年12月6日-同月12日) 英国イングランドでは インフルエンザ/インフルエンザ様疾患 (ILI)の受診率は増加し、[疫学的]ベースライン値を上回った (人口 10万人あたり 34.6人)。
Influenza activity is increasing, and levels of consultation forinfluenza-like illness in primary care have now exceeded base line thresholds in England.
- influenza A H1N1 (2009) and influenza B are the predominant circulating viruses. The virus strains circulating are well matched to the current influenza vaccine and very little antiviral resistance has been detected;
- 57 acute respiratory disease outbreaks were reported in the UK in week 49, 55 schools, one care home and one hospital;

Twenty nine of 86 (33.7%) specimens from patients with influenza-like illness (ILI) presenting to sentinel GPs in England in week 48 [ending 5 December], were reported as positive for influenza (eighteen influenza A H1N1 (2009), one influenza A not subtyped and ten influenza B [英国イングランド 2010年第48週 11月29日-12月5日 定点医療機関からのインフルエンザウイルス陽性 29検体中 A型H1N1 2009 18検体、B型 10、A型/亜型不明 1検体). The proportion of specimens reported to DataMart as positive for influenza has increased to 16.7% (151 of 903).

National figures show vaccination rates are lower than in previous years, covering 66 per cent of the over-65s and 40 per cent of younger adults at risk (pregnant women and those with chronic diseases such as asthma).

Globally, there continued to be co-circulation of influenza H1N1 (2009), A(H3N2), B viruses, with the latter 2 being predominant.

… In Sub-Saharan Africa, overall influenza activity remained low in most countries, except in Cameroon and Ethiopia, which as of early to mid- November 2010, reported a recent surge in the numbers of specimens testing positive for H1N1 (2009) virus [18 (69 percent) of 26 specimens testing positive in Ethiopia and 18 (23 percent) of 79 specimens testing positive in Cameroon].
